I’ve been coming to Karen Barter for a while now and have always been so happy with the finish of my hair – she’s a truly talented hairdresser who really understands what works for me. More recently, she’s introduced a more holistic and mindful side to her service, and it’s made the experience even more special. She brings such generosity and calm to each appointment – I always leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and really well looked after. It’s more than just a haircut now – it’s a little reset for body and mind. Highly recommended.

During the reiki session she did whilst my colour was on she allowed me to relax and let go of all that tension I was holding on to. Going to the Garden Room for my 6 weekly visit is always a pleasure.  Along with very professional hair cuts and dyes that I am always very happy with she offers so much more. 
I am always offered a wonderfully relaxing head massage and a gorgeous eye mask along with other  energy work. I always feel extremely relaxed when i leave.

I really enjoyed my experience with Karen at the Hairlistic Hair Salon. When I walked in, there was calming music playing and the space smelled absolutely beautiful. Karen took the time to talk through what I wanted to achieve with my hair, and we had a lovely, relaxed chat. I think she picked up that I was feeling a bit uptight after a busy day.

When it came time to wash my hair, she added some relaxing treatments - and I honestly just drifted off into my own little world. I could feel my whole body start to relax and unwind. It was such a lovely experience, and so nice to take a bit of time out just for me.

I definitely left the salon feeling much calmer and more grounded. I’d recommend it to anyone - it’s just a really lovely, relaxing experience.

I rarely treat myself to hair treatments, I’ve decided I’m lazy when it comes to hair (I keep it long so I can just shove it up) so when I saw Karen’s treatment menu, I was excited to try combining a hair treatment with an energy work treatment. Karen’s salon is very relaxing, set in beautiful grounds, you feel at ease immediately on entering - the ambience is spot on, as is Karen’s welcoming demeanour. I had a lovely Reiki treatment laying on a massage couch, Karen combined this with some scalp and hair brushing, it was extremely relaxing and nurturing. I then had a conditioning treatment at her hair washing station, it included lots of lovely effleurage moves. I had asked for a chakra cleanse too so she did this whilst the hair treatment was working its magic! Karen used her own intuitive energy work with tuning forks. It was a lovely treatment from start to finish. I came away feeling lighter and my hair felt amazing - I came away with soft long locks and with a spring in my step.

From the moment I walked in, I felt completely at ease. The whole experience was so calming, and I left not only loving my hair but feeling totally refreshed. Your attention to detail and the way you really listened to what I wanted made all the difference. I’ve never had a salon visit feel this personal — I’d absolutely recommend you to anyone looking for more than just a haircut!
